01/24/99 - Eno ~11.0' USGS. Not really hard; mostly washed out except for the broken dam. Dangerous tho, lots of strainers and debris (saw a pinned kayak). Too high.

03/18/99 - Cape Fear USGS ~4.5'. A _touch_ lower (w/ warmer water) would have been perfect.

05/29/99 - Pigeon River at TN line. Wow that was fun. Class III-IV.

05/31/99 - Tuckaseegee above Bryson City. 2.2' USGS. 1000 cfs. Nice run; bit more water maybe. Icky cars as embankment. Big fish. Cool class 3 in the middle.

3/11/01 - Cape Fear ~4 USGS. My fggodness it has been a long time (although there are a couple of trips in there (at least one Eno) somewhere I forgot to write down). Bit chilly.
3/17/01 - Haw River at 4.9 USGS. Still a bit cold, but the sun offset things. John's first trip with us.
3/24/01 - Haw River Chicken Bridge > 501. Nice day for a paddle.
3/31/01 - Flat from the middle to Lake Michie. 2.9 good level; cold w/ no sun
04/06/01 - Haw River - 15-501 > Robeson. USGS 5.2
04/08/01 - Cape Fear. USGS 8 ish. Very squirrly. Found wrecked canoe and ice chest full of beer. Water still a bit chilly for surfin.
4/11/01 - Cape Fear. USGS 4.6 Balmy 85 degrees, and great surfing height. Also rescued the broken canoe.
4/28/01 - French Broad - ~1200 cfs. Marshal to Hot Springs.
5/11/01 - Beach surfin.
5/27/01 - Haw River - 501 > Robeson.
6/2/01 - Eno River Pleasant to Roxboro. ~USGS 2.8. runnable but low. This would be the naked guy trip.

07/14/06 Upper Haw > PG > Cole Mill. USGS 3.3. Upper section is about 2.5 hours. Good and sunburnt. Only just enough water for the upper section. Better put in closer than 70 (bridge somewhere).
9/16/06 Cape Fear at Lillington at 4.7 and dropping. WOW this was a great level for lunch stop. We played there until we were both worn out.

4/6/08 eno pst green to cole mill w/ ccc. USGS 3.5'. Just high enough to not be scrapy. flipped ferrying myself about, and once I was wet surfing about not such a big deal

4/13/08 Cape Fear Lillington > Erwin. Hank. USGS 4.33. Trees in a few irritating places. New construction in Erwin - looks like an access point.
4/20/08 Cape Fear Lillington > Erwin. USGS 3.93. CCC trip. Darn it's good to be out when it's warm enough to play. Lunch stop was fun, but needed about 6" more water to make the playing much better.
4/22/08 Haw Bynum to Robeson. 4.7' and it showed. a bit scrapy but with ducking it worked out ok. great temp. Cool but the water was warmer. Misted on Jonathan and I most of the trip, and we did take out before dark. (6:10pm - 7:45 pm 60/35 min).
4/26/08 Cape Fear @ 2.35 USGS. Not bad. Not really able to surf in much at this point. Group trip with Marnie, Chuck, charlie, and John. Several flips (not me!), but a beautiful day (3 bald eagles!).
4/28/08 Eno Plst Grn to Roxboro. Solo. Wow where did that water come from. USGS says ~4', but I caught the curve on the way up and it sure seems like a lot more than that. Been a long time since I ran down past the dam. the footpath is out, and they're building a new bridge which made the takeout River left down below mostly impassible. (40/44/20)
4/29/08 Eno Plst Grn to Cole Mill. solo. The gauge for yesterday ended up really being ~5.5'. Today was a more normal 4. 40 min, but then again I was racing joggers.
