Sir,

You came by today to check on the leak in our roof, from our call of water coming in around the skylight. There are significant water stains in the attic around the chimney and rafter leading to that skylight, and paint peeling on the living room ceiling. Your company has previously repaired around the skylight along that rafter. You’ve also had someone out here to repaint where the ceiling paint was peeling for water damage in the same area. I am extremely dissatisfied by your claim that you will not repair the roof under warranty.

It was your claim that the leak was in the flashing around the chimney, and that this would not be covered under your warranty. Instead, you claim we would have to sign a $200/year service contract. This was never mentioned at the time the roof was installed (or at the time of other repairs). And given that there is a 10 year Labor and Materials Warranty covering the original roof installation, I would deem the roof leaking to be a defect in the original installation.

Additionally, I asked you specifically about the portion of the warranty which indicates that work done to the roof by “persons or companies other than” … RRR would void the warranty. You indicated that any work performed on the roof by myself would in fact NOT void the warranty. If this is incorrect, please let me know, in writing, by Feb. 28
