What to Wear

Attire

• One pair of riding shorts
• 3 pairs of riding socks
• 1 Gore-Tex rain jacket (will also serve as a wind breaker). A nylon rain jacket will do almost as well for the budget conscious.
  • REI jacket that looks good but I've never tried
  • Countdown - perhaps the driest garmet I've ever owned.
  • Goretex
  • Gore Bike Wear
• 1 pair rain pants
• 2 synthetic t-shirts 
  • Easy to wash, quick to dry. 
• 1 pair of riding shoes
• 1 pair of sandals
• 1 pair of padded leather riding gloves
• 1 hat, scarf, or bandana
• 3 changes of cotton/poly or poly underwear
• 1 lightweight insulated jacket. I recommend the Patagonia Puffball or MicroPuff
  • Jackets should NOT be pullovers. You lose too much ability to regulate your environment.
• Casual attire: a short-sleeve dress or sport shirt for men, a nice blouse or lightweight dress for women
• Casual attire: 1 pair of poly slacks for the evenings.
